At Horgești, we photograph all large carp, publish the photos on our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram) and make the catch photos available to anglers. The photos are marked with the lake logo, the angler’s name, the fish’s weight, and the catch date.
Photographing large carp is done while strictly adhering to all fish protection rules and only in the presence of a lake administrator. For us, carp protection is an essential aspect.
All large carp, at least 20kg, can only be photographed in the water. Large carp can be extremely sensitive, and water is the best “unhooking mat” for their protection. We recommend anglers to have a waterproof wading suit with them to be able to enter the water for the photo session in any conditions, regardless of the water temperature, both during the day and at night.
Carp weighing under 20kg can be photographed on the bank, on an inflatable or tub-style, well-padded unhooking mat.
The photo session must be carried out precisely and quickly, with as little stress as possible for the fish.
